Wearable Devices: A Rat Race Now!

Wearable Devices: a word fascinating enough to grab attention of all the techno geek out there. The technology is among the most burgeoning phenomenon to lead the world to a new era of interaction with information.

We have already welcomed the most speculated invention: Google Glass which is set to hit the mass market soon. Similarly other most sought wearable devices these days are Smart Watches from the giants like Apple, Sony, Samsung and Qualcomm.

Are these the only upcoming devices? Of course NO, rather it has been said that wearable devices will soon replace everyone's favorite Mobile Phones. Earlier the companies which were eager to catch up with the booming handset market are now keener to set a mark in this upcoming exciting computing market.

Intel Corporation, a leading chip maker somehow lost its market share to ARM Holdings in Mobile Technology but now the company is ready to leave no stone unturned to get back its market proficiency. To achieve the same the company has shaken hand with a five year old Canadian firm Recon Instrument to enter in the race. Intel's Quark chip, the smallest chip ever specially designed to bring in the computing and communications capability to everything.

Microsoft is no exception and if rumors to be believed then the company will soon be acquiring Osterhout Design Group, a company already working with US Military and is specialized in wearable technology.

How can I miss the most important participant of the race: Pebble Technology, the first most hi-tech watch of 21st century, a customizable watch designed for Android and iPhone users, the technology has been successful in being a second screen to the smartphones. One can make a call, listen songs, measure speed and what not?

Such initiatives have confirmed one thing for sure, that the sci-fi future is no far now...
